What are the Middlesbrough Youth Mutual - Better Together - Futures & Foundations projects?
Middlesbrough Youth Mutual - Better Together - Futures & Foundations are two interconnected projects aimed at providing support to young people living in targeted wards within Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough Youth Mutual - Better Together - Futures is a National Lottery-funded project that provides career-related IAG support to 14-19 year olds living in the Middlesbrough wards of Newport, Central and North Ormesby. We are the lead partner on this project and our delivery is supported by Linx Youth Project, The Junction Foundation and Youth Focus North East.

Within Futures, Youth Focus deliver enrichment session in selected secondary schools to year 10 and 11 students, while we specifically work with 16-19 year olds to provide tailored 1-2-1 career-related employability support. Linx's role on the project is to carry out the initial engagement with eligible young people and The Junction Foundation actively engage with local employers to encourage them to create supportive employment and development pathways for young people to access as they transition into the world of work.

Foundations, led by Linx Youth project will enable Linx to deliver more age-specific youth clubs so that support/provision can be more tailored to the needs and interests of the young people attending. As part of their offer to young people aged 15+, through Foundations they will provide tailored IAG support focused around soft skills and independent living. Our role on Foundations is to support with this IAG by providing career and employability-related IAG to help prepare young people for entering the world of work.
