Introducing the Futures and Foundations Projects

In May, Actes Trust launched two exciting Middlesbrough Youth Mutual 'Better Together' projects - Futures and Foundations - both funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. These projects are designed to support young people in Middlesbrough with career information, advice and guidance (IAG), as well as employability skills.

Futures Project
We are proud to lead the Futures project, delivered in partnership with Linx Youth Project, The Junction, and Youth Focus. This project targets young people aged 16 to 19 across the wards of North Ormesby, Central, and Newport. Our role is to provide career IAG and employability skills support, helping young people make informed career choices and progress into secure, well-paid employment.

Foundations Project
Actes Trust is a delivery partner on the Foundations project, which is led by Linx Youth Project. We support young people aged 15 and over who attend Linx’s targeted youth clubs across Middlesbrough. Our contribution focuses on enhancing Linx’s existing delivery by offering career IAG and employability guidance.

Our Experience
Actes Trust brings extensive experience in youth employability. From 2016 to 2023, we successfully delivered the New Directions Youth Employment Initiative, working with 1,138 young people and supporting 666 into employment, education, or training.

Get Involved
Delivery staff have now been recruited to work across both our Futures and Foundations projects, and we are actively taking referrals for young people who need support.
